Time To Travel....

Since July 19th when the legality of Covid-19 rules were removed, people have started to travel again with plenty of airport transfer bookings for our Mercedes fleet being made in the past few days. 

 

We are not seeing anywhere near the volume of business we are used to pre-covid but it is reassuring to see that both our private and corporate clients are now ‘ready to travel’. 

 

By February 2021 Heathrow had been hit by £2 billion of lost revenue according to this report from The Guardian and this obviously affected airport transfer services and chauffeur services just like us. 

 

Now that all airports are starting to fully reopen there has also been announcements of some new, and not so welcome, drop off charges at Gatwick and Heathrow, with both airports now charging £5.00 to drop clients at all terminals. Heathrow’s charges commence in October 2021. 

Whilst we appreciate that like most businesses, lost revenue needs to be recovered, is it really fair for the airports to penalise their own customers with these charges?
